Good news has arrived ... the piano can be saved!

Monday, September 25, 2023, the text came: "What's the status of the Kulsethmoe piano?"

My uncle's question sank into me--deep. It came back up to my throat with my heart in a stranglehold, and I chewed the cud of it. The imagination of the precious musical wood and the intricate mechanics infested to the point of destruction wrung tears out of my being. My dad, my family, all of us are connected to this piano. I didn't want to lose one more thing--especially something from my dad, who passed away in very recent years.

I texted, "It's possible it may be saved," while I wept. I explained that the person quoting the options to me was also a pianist and knew the importance of instruments. He had rescued other pianos.

Fast forward to today--Tuesday, October 17, 2023--three weeks (and a day) later. This text came from the project manager: "The piano can be saved" (to which I replied my ultimate eight hearts).

It seems this may become a mini-mantra metaphor. The piano can be saved!!! Whenever there is loss, what's in your heart can always be saved. Granted, it might not be a physical representation like my current experience unfolding, but whatever is deep in your heart, the real you, the God-made you, the divine plans built into you, the Spirit-designed you--can be saved. It might take a little work. It might take some restoration. It might take reinforcement. It might be time, but you'll play your music again.

If life crumbles around you, the piano can be saved! Everything is against you? (Like Jacob said in Genesis 42:36.) The piano can be saved! (And for Jacob, his heart's cry was answered, and he had no idea that the pain of that moment was his path to astounding restoration and preservation.) Your true path will always be restorable.

So I encourage you as I encourage myself from Proverbs 4:25 (NLT): "Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you." Even if you feel silent in your soul, your piano can be saved, my friend. The sound and song in your heart will be heard in the world again. And the most beautiful thing of it is that the Creator who placed those melodic seeds in you never stopped hearing your song since the day He created it. He's tuning you now. :-)
